About the event
Intrepid perfumer Shelley Lewis gives an insight into the creative process of fragrance composition using raw materials of natural origin. Particular reference will be made to the scent which she designed for ‘Alice, conversations with flowers’, which reflects the rose as a central motif. Having recently returned from a trip to India to source the finest floral attars, Shelley will also offer an introduction to the cultural and historical significance of the rose in the fragrant arts.
Shelley Lewis - Biography
Shelley Lewis is a natural perfumer who lives and works in Western Australia. She is the founder and creative director of L’HORTO.
Shelley’s perfumes are a portal to the natural world .. complex, beautiful and healing. She works exclusively with sustainable, natural raw materials and is known for incorporating native botanical species in her work. This results in perfumes with a distinctly Australian aesthetic.
